PocketFMS fly-in

Heide-Büsum EDXB

08 - 10 Sept 06

On Friday morning, Morten flew from Stavanger-Sola to Jarlsberg. From there, we flew formation to Höganäs, in Sweden, for refuelling. Morten flies a Skyranger with a Rotax 912.

At Büsum, we met our friends from the forum, here Elly and Jan, flying from The Netherlands with a Dutch Army Piper Cub.

The day after, we talked a lot about aviation, navigation and PocketFMS. About 25 forum members came from six different countries.

We all stayed at Haus Sturmeck, a youth hostel kept by our friend Ralf. We felt at home and it was very close to the airfield, you can see some of the planes in the background.

In the afternoon, we went sightseeing along the German coast, still in formation, and with passengers.

Then we visited the town of Büsum. Here, from left to right, Declan, Colm (a.k.a. Dublin Pilot) and Morten.

Sunday morning, it was breakfast and time to log in the flight plan for home. Morten had to fly to Stavanger and with about 8 hours airborne, he had the longest way home.

My Kitfox was ready, refuelled the day before. It was just a matter of pre-flight and off we went.

Following Morten across the Store Belt bridge in Denmark.

Last refuelling at Ängelholm, in Sweden.
