Ready to take off. The chart work is done, the flight plan logged in and the ETD is 1610Z. This is my navigation test: Jarlsberg - Notodden. 40 NM is about 40 minutes with my Kitfox. |
After take off, I am cleared to 4,500 ft. Some cumulus over the country. Soon I am over the Skrim mountains. At 8 o'clock, my last chance to land softly if my engine stops. |
Soon Notodden appears at the end of Heidalsvann lake. My instructor and Johnny were preceding me by ten minutes in their Rans 6. After a nice landing, Per Halvor takes a picture of Johnny and me - two students, soon microlight pilots! |
On the way home, we fly uncontrolled in formation. At 2,500 ft, we are lower than some mountain tops. At 3 o'clock, LNYHW as we pass on the side of the Skrim mountains |
Back to Jarlsberg. There is Odd-Tore and his Sky Arrow. He was my first instructor and I liked very much flying his 'Italian lady.' Although it is nearly 10 PM, gliders are still in activity. A very nice evening after a beautiful navigation training trip. |
Isn't she beautiful? |
