Thor had bought a Slepcev Storch at Liernu EBLN, in Belgium. He asked me to help him to take the plane back to Norway. We arrived on Wednesday at the airfield. The owner had pulled her out of the hangar.
Thor avait acheté un Slepcev Storch à Liernu EBLN, en Belgique. Il me demanda de l'aider à rentrer cet avion en Norvège. Nous sommes arrivé un mercredi sur l'aérodrome. Son propriétaire l'avait sorti du hangar.

I was Thor's "Belgian connection" and my friend Pierre was the seller's "Norwegian connection." Here, we are signing the paperwork. As everything else in Belgium, this was done in the café with a beer ... well, a cup of coffee, since we were to fly the plane later on that day.
J'étais la « connection belge » de Thor et mon ami Pierre était la « connection norvégienne » d'Edouard, le vendeur. Ici, nous signons toute la paperasserie. Comme partout ailleur en Belgique, cela se fait au café devant une bière ... enfin, une tasse de café car nous allons devoir voler plus tard dans la journée.

Then it was only a matter of getting this bird up in the air.
Il ne nous restait plus qu'à tester cet avion.

My first landing was fine although not a proper 3-points landing. The very long gear is surprising!
Le premier atterrissage se passa normalement bien que pas exactement un 3-points. Le train très long surprend!

My cousin Sylvie came to see us. Thor and I spent the night at my cousin Christian with a flight plan for 06:00 the morning after. We wanted to start early knowing that bad weather was beind us.
Ma cousine Sylvie était venue pour nous voir. Thor et moi avons passé la nuit chez cousin Christian avec un plan de vol pour 06:00 le lendemain matin car le mauvais temps était derrière nous.

Since we had no transponder, we had to keep under 1,000 feet. After a landing and refuelling at Lelystad, where Rob from PocketFMS invited us for a cup of coffee, we continued to Büsum, in Germany. Again, refuelling and getting ready for the next leg to Sweden.
Comme nous n'avions pas de transpondeur il a fallu voler bas sous 1.000 pieds. Après une escale à Lelystad où Rob de PocketFMS nous invita à une tasse de café, nous sommes reparti vers Büsum, en Allemagne. Là, ce fut le plein et la préparation de la prochaine étape vers la Suède.

I was flying and Thor was navigating. He checked our track on PocketFMS and because our intercom wasn't very good, he would correct my course by showing me the number of degrees to port or starboard and I would acknowledge it with my thumb up.
Je pilotais et Thor faisait la navigation à l'aide de PocketFMS. Comme l'intercom n'était pas très performant,il indiquait les changements de cap de par le nombre de degrés à babord ou tribord et je répondais avec le pouce en l'air.

Here we pass over the Storebelt bridge between the islands of Fyn and Sjælland in Denmark.
Ici nous survolons le pont du Storebelt entre les îles de Fyn et Sjælland au Danemark.

Arriving at Höganäs in Sweden, we have the company of an authentic Army Piper from WWII. Unfortunately the day after the weather is no-fly. On Saturday it doesn't get better and I have to leave Thor to go back by bus to Norway because I have to go to work on Monday.
Arrivé à Höganäs en Suède, nous avons la compagnie d'un authentique Piper de la seconde guerre mondiale. Malheureusement le jour suivant le temps ne s'améliore pas. Samedi n'est pas meilleur et je dois quitter Thor pour retourner en Norvège par bus car je dois être au travail lundi matin.

The next Tuesday, the Storch is flown further north in Sweden, to Fjällbacka.
Le mardi suivant, le Storch est piloté vers le nord de la Suède, à Fjällbacka.

As I don't enjoy much bus rides, I decide to come and fetch Thor with my Kitfox on Wednesday, together with Hermod, who will fly the Storch to Norway.
Comme je n'apprécie pas les voyages en bus, je décida de venir avec mon Kitfox et Hermod, qui pilotera le Storch jusqu'en Norvège.

Since I have a transponder it was much easier to cross the airspaces south of Oslo. Here, we fly in formation toward Dagali in the middle of the Norwegian mountains.
Comme j'ai un transpondeur, ce fut beaucoup plus facile de traverser les espaces aériens au sud d'Oslo. Ici, nous volons en formation vers Dagali au milieu de plateau central norvégien.

Dagali is near Geilo, a famous winter sport center in Norway. The weather, unfortunately, turned again against us. The summer of 2007 will be remembered for its rain!
Dagali est près de Geilo, une station de sport d'hiver très connue en Norvège. Malheureusement la météo nous était de nouveau contraire. On se souviendra de l'été 2007 pour sa pluie et mauvais temps!

Here we have, again, to leave Thor alone. Hermod and I fly back to Jarlsberg with the Kitfox.
Ici, nous devons encore une fois laisser Thor seul. Hermod and moi retournons pour Jarlsberg avec le Kitfox.

A few days later, the weather breaks just enough for the Storch to come to Førde-Bringeland, its destination. Here is the beautiful Sogn fjord.
Quelques jours plus tard, une fenêtre dans la météo permet au Storch d'arriver jusqu'à sa destination finale, Førde-Bringeland. Ici il survole le magnifique fjord de Sogn.

The Storch has finally arrived at Bringeland ENBL. She is expecting good care from her new owner because the next adventure will take her to ... Spain!
Le Storch est enfin arrivé à Bringeland ENBL. Il va recevoir les bons soins de son nouveau propriétaire car bientôt le voilà parti pour de nouvelles aventures vers ... l'Espagne!
